A deep-water terminal at Guiria, north east Venezuela, Gulf of Paria, was planned and designed between PDVDSA and Conoco. The company ExcelTec CA was contracted for the simulation support of the Capacity Planning of the multi-product deepwater terminal. (Caracas. Venezuela. 2000)
A digital model comprising of both discrete and continuous elements was developed on the WITNESS (Lanner) business simulation software. The simulations produced the pipeline – terminal configuration basis for the Front-End engineering design exercise.
The members of the simulation group are now part of Nexta SAS.
